Meet Ramona Davidson
Meet Ramona Davidson
When Ramona Davidson found herself between jobs, she decided to make something happen rather than wait for something to happen. She started the Coffee Talk Express, a local newsletter, in 1998. What began as a small operation out of a spare bedroom in her home soon outgrew its space, eventually prompting her to lease a downtown store front space.
Once she had a physical, visible location, she got foot traffic. Often it was locals who needed office supplies of some sort and wondered if Ramona had access to any. Not one to turn anyone away, she would sell or even give away whatever she had on hand. Her publication business soon morphed into an office and art supplies retailer and provider of services like printing, photocopying, laminating and basically anything else people needed.
Ramona is quick to credit others around her for the success and growth of both of her businesses. She recalls some of the early days of Coffee Talk Express when her mother would cook dinner because Ramona had to work late. She also remembers fondly that another local business let her use their photocopier for free for six months when she was just getting started. Her biggest champion, though, has always been her husband Brian, without whom, Ramona says, she could ever have gotten to the place she is today.
